Charlotte Tilbury is a luxury makeup brand, that creates highquality products for consumers. Charlotte Tilbury’s mission is to “Unlock the Magic Within,” empowering everyone to feel and look their most confident, beautiful selves by providing
high-quality skincare, makeup, and fragrance products, and fostering a culture of beauty and self-belief. The website needed to reflect not only the premium quality of the products, but also the aspirational lifestyle and self-confidence the brand promotes.
Goals.
One challenge of the website was creating a website that felt luxurious, but was also easy to navigate. I had to learn how to create modal windows, and how to create more engaging animations on a website. I also needed to organize the products in a way that was visually appealing, and easy to find items. In the makeup world, some products can be considered both skincare and makeup, so I needed to make sure that some products were in both sections.
I first began by researching the brand, and looking around the current website to see what should be changed for aesthetic and easier usability of the website. I then sketched out simple wire frames to map out the layout and sections of the website. I also created simple wire frames in Figma, as well as in Figma, as well as full fidelity wire frames. I then went into web flow, and built the website, and refined as I went.
The final e-commerce website successfully captures the glamour and sophistication of Charlotte Tilbury while providing a smooth, user-friendly shopping experience. The design enhances product discovery, reinforces brand identity, and creates a cohesive digital environment that feels both luxurious and accessible. The project shows how both branding and UI design can work together to create a seamless product.
